AGRICULTURAL INVESTMENTS

Mr. Schlies has been involved in family agricultural properties for over 50 years and is currently the President of Tierras Schlies, L.P., a family-owned real estate company which currently operates two agricultural properties. The family properties have included a citrus orchard in Tulare County, various almond ranches, including one currently in Merced County, and a wine-grape vineyard in Lake County. Mr. Schlies has engaged in leasing open portions of the family lands and also counseled clients related to agricultural leases. As a former member of the Board of Directors of the Tri-Valley Conservancy, Mr. Schlies has additional experience with agricultural lands related to the Tri-Valley Conservancy’s mission of protecting agricultural lands in the Tri-Valley area.

Should your investment interests include the ownership or development of an agricultural property, including either the purchase or sale of such a property, Mr. Schlies may well be qualified to help based on his extensive experience with agricultural properties and his general knowledge of real estate law as a long-time practitioner in that field.

Mr. Schlies has fluency in the pros and cons of agricultural investments, development of a permanent crop (vineyard or orchard), and disposition of an agricultural property. He has overseen almond orchard development and planned vineyard development for family properties. He has witnessed the cyclical nature of both agricultural property values and crop pricing. Agricultural investments are not for the faint of heart. However, if you have found yourself courageous enough to consider such an investment, the next step is to get good professional advice.
